When it comes to media playing applications, MX Player may not be the best for some. But there is one unique feature which you can only see in this app, that is its capability to hide videos in MX Player.
Let’s admit that media files are the component which take up our device memory, except for the apps installed. Plus, it consumes our battery once we left them running on the background.
In MX Player, you’ll be able to hide your videos temporarily or permanently. That’s what I am going to teach you for today’s post.
The process is very simple and only need a few tweaks on your Android phone. So, let’s start.
Hide Videos in MX Player
#1. First step is to rename the files or the videos you want to hide. To do that:
- Open your device File Manager and select
- Then, find the videos to hide and click Rename.
- After that, rename the file by just adding a dot at the beginning of the original file name.
#2. Go back to MX Player and go to Settings.

#4. Under Scan section, uncheck the “Show hidden files and folders.”
That will hide your videos in MX Player as well as in your File Manager. What if you want to unhide those videos? Don’t worry! We also have a guide for you.
